Work/Death- Seven Branched Larch Boughs cassette (Twonicorn)
Another Twonicorn tape, this one belonging entirely to the singular moniker of Work/Death, a Providence dude who has put out releases with Hospital Recordings. He recently tore it up live in collaboration with hardcore punks Dropdead. This one is quite a dark descent , beginning with some stark chord patterns that soon sink beneath a distortion-bog that will rattle the frame of any tape deck. Side-B is similarly bleak and unrelenting, with the tentacle & beak-ensnared thrashings of Captain Nemo's pipe organ and the harsh vibrato wail of a thousand turntable needles dying. Thoroughly malevolent, with Work/Death glue-stenciled onto the tape. (
